FAQ

The primary tutor is Rudy Stoler, founding instructor of Essential Jewish Learning. Besides teaching students for several years, Rudy has also run a b’nei mitzvah program at Chizuk Amuno Congregation in Baltimore, Maryland, overseeing more than 100 students and advising 30+ tutors in teaching methods and tricks-of-the-trade.

Absolutely! No two children learn the same way and every Jewish child deserves the opportunity to learn the skills expected to become a Jewish adult. Rudy has worked with students from a wide variety of backgrounds and learning needs. If a child’s needs require a different tutor, Rudy is also happy to guide parents toward the right person.

All of them! Every synagogue has its own bar/bat mitzvah requirements, and Rudy will coordinate with the relevant clergy.

Not having your bar/bat mitzvah ceremony in a synagogue? Rudy is available to help make arrangements for a service as well.
